Beauty on a Budget- Hot Topic Style

To kick off the blog i thought i'd start with a review. This will be the first addition of beauty on a budget featuring the Hot Topic Neon eyeshadow palette. In this review i will be showing you swatches of the product alone, with Urban Decay Primer Potion, and Mac Bare Study Paint Pot.

I purchased this palette a while ago and have to say that i'm impressed and disappointed. I think i only paid $5 for this palette, so for the money it was great. There are five colors in this palette. They are blue, pink, green, orange, and yellow. They are all very shimmery, so if you don't like shimmer this might not be a good fit for you. They have an amazing creamy texture to them and most of them are very pigmented except the pink, which is my favorite color so it was totally heartbreaking. These swatches are done in natural light on NC-20/25 skin and are taken with a fugi F50se camera.

PhotobucketOverall i like them. Not my favorite, but then again not my least favorite either. I do believe i would purchase them again as they are convenient and handy to have when doing neons on the go or traveling. They feel amazing and really remind me of the shadows in the 120 palette i just got and will be doing a review on later.

Recap
  • Cute and convenient
  • Smooth and creamy
  • Mostly Pigmented
  • Shimmery
  • Low cost ($5)
  • Would buy again
  • Pink color makes me sad :(
If you post these pictures anywhere else, please link back to my blog for credit. Thanks

  3. I think I have this same neon palette, except my pink is VERY pigmented like to the point that it stains your skin, lol. Maybe they changed the formula so that this wouldn't happen anymore, and in the process, nixed the pigmentation as well. Bummer. Also, the green on mine sucked, and yours looks way more like the shade of green I had expected
